This is interesting...

With the beginning of the school year here and with us off campus students called to really be a major part of the fall push, my excitement level is through the roof.  Yet everytime I get excited, there's a wave of self depreciating thoughts and a fear of destroying everything that comes along only a short while later.  It occrred to me why last night.

It's not necessarily Satan that's doing it, but I'm being attacked.  It could just be my flesh, which is also in total opposition to God, it could be a demon, it could be any number of things, but the fact is that the kind of thoughts that flood in to tear me down are in direct opposition to my identity in Christ.  This is a time to that can be given to God to be SUPER effective in reaching freshmen and seeing lives changed, it's also the most oppertune time to attack.

I've never experienced this at the beginning of a semester before, but then, I've never been called to be such a part of things in the fall before.  I think God has something huge in store for us and I've watched as many people I know are going through very similar things.  As I've said before, the only thing that the enemies of God can do is convice you of a lie.  They have several means to do that at their disposal, but really, that's all they can do.

So, when you pray, please remember those who are in leadership of your church.  Not just Brandon and Tom, but all of us who lead or co-lead D-teams, head up ministries, things like that.  Remember your brothers and sisters in Christ as well.  Pray for protection and super sensitivity to the Holy Spirit.

I agree

I agree about the whole thought of messing things up and that kinda bothered me until I realized that no matter what I do or say, God is by far more powerful than the enemy and will use what I do for his Glory. as long as I make myself available, He will use me.In a sense I'm not taking responsibility for how things turn out this week, I will take responsibility for getting what I said I would do done. But as for the hearts of the freshman. Thats Gods responsibility and only God can change their hearts. He had control of Pharoahs heart in a major way, so is true with the freshman of our day!!! I think its because of our weeknesses that I am so excited about the next 2 weeks because Gods power is going to be magnified in a major through them!!! God will be glorified this week!!!!!
